CHINA, NANTONG BINHAI INDUSTRIAL PARK TUA JIE RIVER REGION, JIANGSU PROVINCE

When Tuan Jie River, meets the bay area in Jinagsu Province , farmlands meet the ocean and the new site of BinHai Industrial Park/ New Town is located. There is an existing eight meters high dyke-road protecting the land from tides. New dyke-road integrating with islands and interconnected lakes is proposed as a designed reclaimed waterfront land.. Water flow is designed to be naturally filtered by wetlands and released with lesser contamination to the sea and environment, creating new opportunities for fishing industry.
A new hospital along with health clubs and associated facilities are also included in the program as a regional magnet. One of the islands is sized to accept a future Formula One racetrack as a global attraction along with fishing infrastructure, marina development, mixed use variety of residential buildings. Project has two key areas to the north and south which act as GATEWAYS to the entire new town. Both cases , as a waterfront site has dyke roads.
Architecturally it is a challenging waterfront developments to express/ integrate with the high dyke road and through careful terracing creating, ecologically friendly and attractive New Town environment.
